to the Kooralbyn Horse & Pony Club!
There are many horse owning people in the
valley and we would like to take
the opportunity to invite you to come and join in our "musters".
We have many types of riders form all walks of life and age groups.
Unlike the preconceived ideas many people
have of "Military Based" Pony Clubs that are for "Kids",
Pony Club Queensland is the only Pony Club system in Australia that
has Senior riders (over 26) that are allowed to compete. While there
are certain rules and guidelines within any riding club, K.H.P.C.
is willing to look at many methods and training systems.
  
1998 saw us learning the ropes as a new
club. We hosted a Zone One Day Event, ran canteens at the Zone Sporting
and Camp draft Championships, held a Horsemanship Clinic, an Instructors
School and hosted the biggest Pony Club in the Southern Hemisphere,
Mudgeeraba Pony Club, to a weekend training school.
Lots of training days went on through the
year as well as riders competing in Western, O.D.E. Hacking, Showjumping
and Gymkhanas.
 This
year we will run a similar programme with the Zone O.D.E. , with some weekend campouts and trail rides
planned. These events can only go ahead with the help & support
of our members. Pony Club is run on a totally volunteer basis by
the members, with the exception of specially organised schools with
hired outside instructors.
The riders are encouraged to go to these
schools as we subsidise them form the money we raise through the
year.
"Musters" are the 1st Sunday of the month, and the
3rd Saturday of the Month. 9 a.m.
start at Polofield No 2 unless otherwise notified.
